This is an elaborate, studio-quality microphone of legendary status, which includes both moving-coil dynamic and ribbon velocity elements. Western Electric first introduced these mics in the early 1940's and later Altec took them over, but THIS one is the original Western Electric release. Rarely would you ever find one of these in better shape, 100% factory original internals, NO bent or warped ribs, and NO repairs ever done...this mic has been babied its entire life! A 6-position screwdriver actuated rear switch allows the two elements to be used separately or combined to produce a variety of audio profiles, and works on all settings. **Check out the voice sample on the listing video.** (Remember, NEVER use phantom power which can damage this microphone!)
