In fact, shortly after their relocation to Cincinnati, Gruen became the number one selling watch brand in the US. Like many brands - their factory in Time Hill ceased production of wristwatches and produced contracted military watches for the US Military in WW2. After the war, the flood of Swiss import watches had a disastrous effect on Gruen, and the brand ultimately closed its doors in 1977. Today, their wonderful line of vintage watches such as the Airflight, and Curvex models are all that remains of this once great brand. Product Measurements Diameter: 36mm Lug Width: 18mm Tip to Tip of Lugs: 42.5mm Product Condition Poor, overall condition for its age. Not running as it is for parts. There is plating wear through and scratches on the case. There are scratches on the crystal. The dial is in good condition. It is missing the stem. The hands are bent some. Two spring bar holes are jammed with the end of a springbar.
