Description: Vintage Carved Painted Wood FOLK ART Weighted Fishing DECOY LURE, Old Sign Fins Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE/ANTIQUE FOLK ART FISHING LURE DECOY Wonderful vintage/antique primitive folk art hand made solid wood ice fishing lure decoy measuring about 4-1/2" long. Carved from a single piece of wood, underside has inset lead weight - metal fins and tail are channel set, and made from an old tin advertising sign - complete with eyebolt loop. Looks like the metal tail is also wrapped with original, rusted fine wire as shown - bears the original paint as well. Condition is primitive with rubbing and paint wear - no holes, cracks or damage - fins have surface rust. Definitely saw lots of use. Just a wonderful, visually striking old fishing lure decoy with neat folk art appeal - I believe it dates to the early 1900s - nice addition to any collection or display!
