Description: Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned Joannes XXIII Ponte Max Roma Pope John The 23rd Tokens Bracelet. Found an estate sale of a deceased teacher who traveled extensively over the last 30 years. The Pope, Johannes XXIII, medal featured in silver tone metal and measures about 9” long. Each token is about 1” diameter. Circa 1950s-60s. There are 16 tokens all tied together with a chain on each side. The front of this medallion is of Johannes XXIII with his name. The reverse side shows an image of the Vatican in Rome Italy. In good used vintage condition. Some general wear from use and storage. Also seen is some tarnish. "Pope John XXIII was Bishop of Rome and hence head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State from 28 October 1958 to his death in 1963. Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was one of thirteen children born to a family of sharecroppers who lived in a village in Lombardy".
