Description: This is a pre-owned, vintage porcelain enamel on steel 4 1/2” x 2 5/8” mini-sign plaque, hand printed and made by Dodo Designs Manufacturers LTD. The front reads, “KEEPOUT Chatterley Manor Gamekeeper Carries A Dangerous Weapon,” which is obviously inspired by D.H. Lawrence’s novel Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Any spots / specs you see in the pics is actual wear on the sign and not lint, dust, etc… Please look at the pics and ask any questions. I tried to research this company, Dodo Designs Manufacturers Ltd, but they apparently operated and shut down before the days of the internet, so I couldn’t find much info. What I do know is that they are mostly known for their signs and tins, and all of the products that I’ve seen produced by this company were made in the 1960’s - 1980’s.
