Description: The is a classic 3-notch No 3 cast iron skillet. This series of skillets was produced from the 1940s-1950s. The pan is in full restored condition and ready to use. While most think of of using these small skillets to cook a single egg, I use them as single serving pans for the family. Such as chicken pot pies, Sheppard pies, etc.. The cooking surface still retains its original factory polishing marks and is very smooth to the touch. Two sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge of the bottom stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving. Item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. Item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hours. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, item may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
