In the 1940s, Castleton produced a series of plates for the Museum of Modern Art in New York with artwork by Bemelmans of different classic opera scenes. I have seen pictures of these plates in color, but not one in black and white like this. This plate measures 10.5 inches in diameter. It is in nice condition with no chips or cracks.
