Vintage Maitland Smith Signature Faux Leather Book Console Cabinet Hand Made

Description: Authentic vintage handmade Maitland Smith Faux Leather bound book style console cabinet Measures: 30” wide, 20.5” deep, 31.5 tall. Very heavy, I have no idea how much it weighs but it’s difficult for myself (small female) and my 15yo son to move it together. Provenance: I purchased this from an auction house located in Hesperia CA. It came from an estate that they liquidated. It might be possible to get more information from them. Condition: Original interior Maitland smith lining, signature brass logo, key is broken, I don’t know where the end of the key is, it might be in the lock, it might not. There are two latches for the cabinet, one upper and one lower, don’t lock them or the cabinet will be locked. Until you address the key issue. It does close and stay closed without the latches engaged. One shelf in the cabinet and one drawer. Outside is hand painted and there are markings/patina areas where it has been rubbed off. Please look at photos closely. It’s a very old piece for Maitland Smith. It’s the signature leather bound book line. It’s a rare style, as I haven’t seen another console cabinet exactly like this one. It is handmade in the Philippines and has the tag on the bottom as well as the drawer tag.
