Description: Offering for sale a vintage set of salesman sample fixtures for a bathroom including a sink, tub, and toilet tank. Each item compliments the others, but markings indicate they are samples for three different companies. They could have been supplied by each company to a general store or they were individually put together by a collector. Either way it is fascinating to see how companies advertised their goods before computers. The sink is heavy and measures 4.5”L, 3.5”W, and approximately 2.5”T from the bottom of the sink to the top of the faucets. I am not sure if the sink top is cast iron or porcelain, but the hot and cold water faucets are metal. It does have a metal plate underneath the sink base as pictured which is marked “Standard Lenox”. My research shows the Lenox brand is still used to manufacture sinks, but I am unable to find any company history information. The next item is the tub. It is also heavy and appears to be porcelain. The tub measures 8”L, 3.75”W, and 3”T. It is stamped “D. A. EBINGER SANITARY MANUFACTURING CO. Columbus, Ohio”. This company was established in 1910 and made tubs, toilets and other sanitary products. The firm changed its name to EBCO Manufacturing Co in 1935, so this sample would predate that year. The final sample is Peerless Vitreous toilet tank. It is vitreous porcelain and measures 3.75”L, 1.5”W, and almost 3”T. Peerless Pottery was a plumbingware manufacturer, founded in 1902 in Evansville, Indiana. Each piece in this set has some small blemishes that I tried to capture in the pictures, but they are very solid. Some blemishes may rub or polish out, but I wanted to leave that decision up to the buyer.
