Description: Vintage GERALD HENN Pottery Roseville BLUE STARS SPONGEWARE Stoneware Pitcher RARE 7.5" high, 8.5" long from spout tip to handle. Top opening is 5". Round base 5 1/8" across. A wonderful pitcher, very unique. Studio handmade stoneware pottery with a FANTASTIC sponged blue glaze which can only be described as 'luscious' against a cream colored background. 6 large hand painted blue stars going around the center of the pitcher. Adds a lot of charm and visual appeal. Inside of jug is glazed cream colored- this glaze is watertight, so the pitcher could be used as a beautiful tabletop vase or a drinks pitcher. With a large and exaggerated solid handle See all pics and use zoom. Excellent condition- as close to pristine as can be achieved for age. No nicks chips cracks scratches damage or repair. No fading to glaze, no dullness to surface. This is a stunning piece- great for a collectorEmbossed on underside with Artist Gerald E. Henn's workshop mark plus a hand painted letter W. Americana/Folk Art style at its best! The skill level on this pitcher is extremely goodGerald 'Jerry' Henn studios were open from the early 1980s until about 2007. He built his business up from a conversion van to a studio, which burned down. He rebuilt and opened a shop out of which to sell his lovely pottery pieces in Ohio. The business was totally family run and he personally made all of his own pieces which bear his mark on them [as this pitcher does]. His company/website is no longer operating.
