Description: Hand thrown stoneware bowl from American artist Richard Masterson (1940-2013). He was a much admired Santa Fe potter with over 50 years of experience in stoneware and porcelain. This bowl features sgraffito petroglyphs from the Southwest through a black underglaze to the exterior. Inside is a deep rich orange to copper to red gloss glaze that is repeated along the base. The piece is signed Masterson on the base (because of the stoneware pattern flour needs to be applied to read it clearly -- see photo). 4.5 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches high. A true masterpiece.
