Meadows (Maiden surname La Joyce) was an artist whom resided in Little Elm, Denton County, Texas. She created original oil and water color paintings of landscapes, floral arrangements, portraits and much more which she occasionally traded or sold in events around the Dallas / Fort Worth area circa 1950-80’s. The landscapes tend to depict actual North Texas area around Lewisville Lake where she and her family lived. Near her home are stands of blue bonnets, wild flowers, cacti, and trees such as mesquite. The choice of oil and water color paints create art that matches actual colors and lighting conditions. She worked in various media ranging from stretched canvas, hardboard, or thick cotton paper. Additionally, she would hand paint ceramics for special decorative goals. Her workmanship evolved to become professional quality in every respect. We were privileged to have acquired a number of originals from her estate in 2021.
