Description: Selling what once was my personal grail pen, the wahl metal pen in the Niagara finish! This is one of the rarest metal pen models ever made, being produced for only one year in 1927. I'm letting this go at a complete bargain due to the condition of the pen. The last one that sold on ebay went up to 7-800$, and that was for the smaller #2 version! More about the pen: it's the full size model (5 inches capped), with a #4 gold seal nib. If you've ever held a wahl coronet in your hand, this has almost the exact same dimensions. The nib is 14k gold manifold, and writes a super smooth, medium-fine line. You may have noticed the weird silver sleeve on the grip section- when I received the pen, the entire front of the section had corroded away, so I made a sleeve out of sterling silver sheet metal and slipped it over the corroded portion. The tolerances on the sleeve are incredibly tight, and the sleeve has been shellaced in place so no ink gets trapped. In the time I've inked up this pen, the sleeve has not had the smallest amount of corrosion appear. The barrel/cap are vermeil, or more accurately gold-filled over solid sterling silver. The barrel as a result has a ton of dents, and the area around the lever has cracked a bit. I made the decision to remove the pressure bar to reduce stress on that area, but in the process I might've lost it :P. You can find spare pressure bars pretty easily though; I personally like to squeeze-fill these kinds of pens, as it gets a better fill. To remove the grip section to access the sac, just pull and twist on the section, making sure not to put pressure on the sleeve (as it may slide off). One last thing- the clip is pretty loose and wobbles side-to-side a bit. It's not at any risk of falling off though. The pen is, of course, restored (to the best of my ability), and is ready to write. Because it's not much in collector's condition, you won't feel bad using it :). Feel free to send an offer!
