Description: Waltham Grade No. 81 Model 1883 18 Size Base Metal Open Face Pocket Watch ca. 1903. This antique Waltham grade No. 81, model 1883, 18 size, open face pocket watch has a base metal case measuring approximately 54.5mm in diameter x 2 1/2 inches long including bow. The case is engraved with a lined art deco design and has a monogram in a plaque that appears to be "CEA". The case has very little wear and is in great condition. The back and front removes and replaces properly with good threading. The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals, a red five minute track, blue light spade hands, a single sunk seconds register at six o'clock and is marked "Waltham". The dial has very light hairlines and chipping near four, but is in otherwise good condition. The crystal is in great condition. The inside back case is stamped "Illinois Watch Case Co. - Spartan - ?878106". The gilt movement is stamped "American Waltham Watch Co. - 15 Jewels - 1247752". All screws and jewels appear to be in good condition. Stem wind and set. This watch is running. No guarantee of future performance.
