Description: One year, when I was feeling very adventurous, and after I got this book, I made my baskets out of this dough, and used them to deliver my food gifts. It was successful, but a bit time consuming. But this would be a perfect project for slightly older children, and may be a fun memory of Christmas for them for the future. And there are ideas for Christmas Ornaments, and, if you aspire to a fancy tree in the living room, may make a perfect small tree in the kitchen. If you coat them, they can be used for years, and even given to your children as they start housekeeping. And it is never too early to teach that giving is better than receiving. Making the dough and the projects here is easy, for the most part, and a lot of fun. Your projects can be painted, attached to wood with glue, and quite literally be anything your imagination desires. But be prepared for the occasional failure in baking. I often thought of making the faces for dolls for the kitchen, like the old "kitchen witches", but somehow never got around to doing it. Now that I am retired, maybe I will try again. Or maybe you will beat me to it. A truly fun book, and worth spending time with. NOTE: check out my Christmas Category on my store, Cookbooks Galore, for other volumes of Food Gifts and more.
