Fernandez, circa 1989. It comes boxed with a certificate. This set of 12 dessert plates originated when each was selected by the President of the United States or his First Lady. Each dessert plate has a serial number. In alphabetical order, here are the presidents whose selections sparked this interest in collecting: John Quincy Adams. Ulysses S. Grant. Benjamin Harris. Andrew Jackson. Thomas Jefferson. Abraham Lincoln. James Madison. Franklin Pierce. James Monroe. James J. Polk. Zachary Taylor. George Washington. The collection comes in a white case with blue trim.
