The soldier never tells his exact units name, only the 101st Airborne. all of his pictures show his well decorated with 101st airborne insignia. He finishes actual airborne jump training and is shipped overseas to England. He arrives in England December 6th 1944. The soldier talks about being sent to a tent city where the 101st was sent after their Holland operation. A few days later they ship out in trucks to Bastogne. the soldier sees a lot of combat and after the siege of Bastogne is lifted he is wounded in a face to face encounter with a German soldier. He has a serious foot wound and is sent to a rear base hospital in France. He recovers from his gunshot wounds and rejoins his unit at Bertesgarden.
