Description: This is a high-quality Adventurebilt beaver felt Indiana Jones fedora that has seen a fair amount of wear and lots of travels. It's specifically based on the style of hat teenage Indiana Jones wore in the earlier episodes of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles starring Sean Patrick Flanery. It resembled the fedora he wore in Mexico 1916, Ireland 1916, London 1916, and some other episodes from the first two seasons. The fedora worn in Treasure of the Peacock's Eye and the later TV movies was notably tapered and looks quite a bit different. Compared to the Harrison Ford Indiana Jones hats, the Young Indy fedora has a wider non-dimensional brim and a wider ribbon. This one also ended up with a bit of a tear drop crown, though that wasn't necessarily the case in the show. I bought this from Steve Delk (unfortunately now deceased) around 2006. It was from one of the earlier batches of Indy fedoras he sold and is a special collector's item as most of the Indy hats made are based on the Harrison Ford movies and not the Young Indy series. Not long after I bought this hat, Steve made fedoras used in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal skull. I was active in the Indygear forums back in the day and very in the know on which hats were the best and who made them, so I was able to get some Adventurebilts before demand for them sky-rocketed. Steve Delk was a great hat maker, great forum contributor, and standup guy who treated his customers well. Size 7 & 1/4. Check out hat sizing charts online to see if this fits you. Also, even if it doesn't fit. It would make a fine prop display piece, especially because a real Indy fan has given it a lot of use. This would go well with the Young Indy diary prop that has an ibis on the cover. Cleaned with a lint roller. Spray-on Kahl's weather protector was applied to this hat around late 2010. May shrink in the rain, unless the weather protector still holds up.
